Successful Surgery

Cam did great in his surgery. Came out with eyes bleeding so I had a little bit of a hard time with that visual but that's to be expected. He has been very uncomfortable but handling it beautifully! I'm so proud of how my super sensitive kid is handling this better than most other 2 year olds would! He slept all day yesterday an we have been trying to keep him in his room with the drapes drawn. He is super sensitive to light and his eyes are all red and meaty. It could take 2 weeks for that to go away. We went for a follow up doctor's appointment which confirmed that his head tilt when focusing is fixed already. It will take some time for the brain to become accustomed to his new way of seeing but all was a success.

Cam going in to surgery

All marked up and ready to go back. Should be in for about an hour. They will be tightening 4 muscles in the eye. This is not going to be very fun recovering with my super sensitive man....

This week

Cams eye surgery has been moved to June 19. I'll be with Brody all day Thursday and Friday at CHOP for doctors appointments and preop testing-seeing general surgery to check his enlarged lymph node, seeing speech for another swallow study, seeing Pulmonology for some new bacteria/infections found on his most recent culture, then he gets bloodwork and a chest X-ray. He is going to be one miserable kid, and I'm going to be an even more miserable mom after the next two days!

Found MRSA and psuedomonas in his last culture so a week before his surgery we will be adding 2 more big antibiotics to his usual zpack! That's a lot for such a little guy but we have to make sure nothing interferes with his healing.
