Today Brody was discharged from the hospital to Weisman Childrens in Marlton, NJ. Brett and I decided along with his doctors that the minimal amount of therapy he would receive at home might be enough to get by but we of course wanted to give him every resource possible. We are calling it Baby Bootcamp. He is doing great on his first day here and we are hoping he will sail through this and come home to his family very soon. I will explain more on later posts about what services he is receiving and how he is coming along but I too am getting adjusted to our new environment here and yet again am feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Slow and steady

Brodys cultures have continued to stay negative since the 1st!! I am amazed every day by this kids superhuman strength. He is still on a lot of ventilator support and not on full feedings yet buy we are getting there. We are in a much different place than we were last week when we didn't know if he would make it through this. He will be here for at least another 2 weeks.

Brody has had clean blood cultures since the 1st... A big step in the right direction but we have a ways to go. The cultures have 5 days to grow something before they're truly considered clean and they must have 3 in a row... 15 days worth to consider the infection gone. Tomorrow he will go under anesthesia to have his GI tract scoped.
