Brodys had a new line placed in his superior vena cava. We were lucky they were able to place it as we were told that he is running out of spots to access to give his meds... This was the last of them. We NEED to be able to administer his meds but if infectious disease had their way they would not want a foreign body placed into infected blood. Yeast clings and grows on plastic so this is risky but necessary. We've had a lot of very scary situations with the boys but this is the longest period of days continuous that we have feared every minute for his life. Through it all... When he wakes up between his morphine sleep he smiles and holds my hand tight.
